Carolina Clash Recap

WELL… WE CLASHED (AND CRASHED)

It was another awesome Carolina Clash. And we might not have came home with one of the coveted Carolina Clash belts, but we came home with some hardware (and some new scrapes on our helmet).

After our problems in the Sr Animal Heat race, we had to start nearly dead last in the C Main. We ended up transferring from the C to the B to eventually finishing 4th in the A.  That meant we improved 17 positions on the day, earning us the coveted MPI - Max Papis Innovations “Up on the Wheel” Award.

It might not be a belt… but it’s a pretty cool steering wheel and it made a long day worth it.

🥞 Cascade Milling Sr. Honda 

A-Main: p4->p10

Recap: Remember the headline? Well this is where we crashed.  On lap 1, we were battling our buddy GW MOEtorsports for 3rd when we locked wheels, sending both cars upside down and the old Pancake car up on top of the wall. It was a wild ride but we were able to continue. Unfortunately something was wrong with the car and we just had to survive and make it to the end. Bummer! Congrats Brayden Ickler on the win!

🛢️ Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - Kannapolis Sr Animal 

C-Main: p8->p2

B-Main: p8->p3

A-Main: p9->p4

Recap: We knew we had a great car here, but after blowing the chain off 3 times in our heat race we had to start near the back of the C. We raced hard and transferred through the C and B and made it to the A. We almost got onto the podium, racing nose to tail with our buddy GBS Racing, but fell one spot short. Still 4th was awesome. Ole Edison Carter Awesomeness Racing won again!

🦷 Seamless Dentistry Lt. 160 

A-Main: p4->p4

Recap: That finish doesn’t show how good this car was. We legit think we coulda won this race. We got the lead early, fell to 2nd, got freight trained to 5th, got back to 3rd, chased down the leaders, was passing for 2nd and got wrecked. Went to the back, drove all the way back to the front and was on the bumper of 3rd (great job CL7 Racing) when the 40 laps ran out. What a car. And our driver was crying at the end he was so frustrated (thanks Zach for the pep talk) We shoulda podiumed, but it was still an awesome race and an awesome car.
