MAKING SOME BIG GAINS IN OUR SENIOR YEAR 💪🏼👊🏼

We finally got to participate in a “regular” race today at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA)! After big races to start the year, we had a normal club race this weekend. But with the level of talent at our track, nothing is “regular.”

Qualifying: P7 (of 15)

B-Main: P1->P3

A-Main: P9->P7

Recap: After a struggle in qualifying and the B Main - the car finally came to life in the A. However, some mistakes by the driver in passing other cars cost him track position in a race with just one caution. Still a solid 7th after coming through the B!

Qualifying: P2 (of 5)

A-Main: P2->P2

Recap: What a race… the top 3 cars raced nose-to-tail for 40 straight laps. Any of them coulda won the race. They ran within .004 seconds of each other the whole race. But Elliott was tired by the end of the race and settled for 2nd. A great finish and congrats to Awesomeness Racing Team on their first competitive win! Those kids are gonna have some battles this year.

Qualifying: P5 (of 14) WHAT???? 😁

A-Main: P5->P6

Recap: this was this weeks 💔 race… After locking into the A main after qualifying (it was our goal this week and we did it), we knew we had some work cut out for us in an all star race. But at the beginning, Elliott raced to 2nd behind Case James Racing. He proceeded to run solidly in 2nd for the first half of the race. However, a caution with about 15 to go saw E restart 2nd but behind some lapped cars. He hesitated on the restart and got freight trained to the back. He came back to finish 6th - but he might have been able to run top 3. A real heart breaker.

In the end - we ran ALL THREE A Mains with a podium. Even more telling, we ran some fast laps (3rd fastest lap in Lt 160, 4th fastest lap in Sr Honda and fastest lap in Sr Animal) in all our races. We just need to put together the race craft against the best - the speed is there.
