Championship Series R.6 Recap
A HOT DAY 🥵, A GOOD REBOUND 😁… AND A HONDA CUP TROPHY 🏆
If you follow along, you know we’ve had a rough past couple races. And yesterday’s Championship Series race 6 wasn’t without its mistakes – but we ended the day with our heads held high, (almost) all our goals met and a legit chance to have podiumed in all three races. And we came home with a Honda Cup trophy. In all our years of racing in Cup races (rookies, two years of Jrs in three different classes), we never podiumed during a Cup race. So this one was special.
And super pumped for my buddy Henry Albright Racing on winning both Lt. 160 and Sr. Honda features! 🏆🏆!

Qualifying: P3 (of 14) 🥉
A-Main: P3->P3 🥉🏆
Recap: Our main goal for Honda was to make the top-six in qualifying and avoid the B-Main. And you know what… we qualified THIRD. Ahead of some big hitters. And the race went really well. We ran 3rd for most of the race, but late in the race, we got hit and shuffled up out of the groove and lost a few spots. But a wreck at the end allowed E to retake those spots and finish 3rd. Pumped to take home a Cup trophy!

Qualifying: P2 (of 6)
A-Main: P4->P2 🥈
Recap: We just missed the pole after a mental mistake in qualifying. That put us starting 4th after the invert. We jumped into 3rd and eventually made the pass for 2nd. Then we spent the rest of the race chasing down the leader. And we were chasing him down, just not enough per lap. We eventually caught him on the white flag lap, but couldn’t make a move. Congrats Awesomeness Racing Team!
🥞 Cascade Milling Light 160 🥞
Qualifying: P8 (of 9)
A-Main: P8->P5
Recap: This coulda been... The car wasn’t that great, but we took advantage of a big wreck early to hold 3rd for most of the second half of the race. But because of the heat, and a LONG red flag and TONS of caution laps, Elliott got hot and tired and lost concentration over the final 5 laps, costing him two spots finishing 5th.
