YOU TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD.. AND LEARN FROM IT, RIGHT???
We were back at it at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) on Saturday. And we had some pretty high hopes. Elliott has been racing well as of late. And being aggressive. And our cars have been fast.
But we kinda… well screwed that all up on Saturday.
While the Lt. 160 was much better thanks to some repairs and help from Ultimate QM, the Sr. Honda was a rocket but E struggled with making some aggressive passes when he should. Driver error. Then, dad screwed up the setup on the Animal and didn’t give E a chance. Dad error.
Oh well… we still learned. Onto the next one.
🦷 Seamless Dentistry Sr. Honda 🦷
Qualifying: P4 (of 14)
A-Main: P1->P7
Recap: As usual, with a big field of cars, the goal was the qualify in the top-6 to avoid the B main and we did just that. Then with the invert, we started on the pole of the A. Our time up front would be short lived though, as we got hit going into turn one on lap one. Thankfully, we were able to keep going, but lost a ton of track position. But despite having a super fast car, E was a little timid making passes and lost a couple of more spots, then got spun out from behind, putting him at the back of the field. Came back to finish 7th, but he had a top-4 car easily!
🛢️ Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - Kannapolis Sr. Animal 🛢️
Qualifying: P5 (of 6)
A-Main: P5->P5
Recap: Dad really screwed up on this one. Animal has been our best car all year long. But we didn’t practice the car on Friday and it showed. It put us behind after qualifying and the car got worse over the long run in the race. Back to our tried and true setup next time out. Chalk this one up to dad’s fault!
🥞 Cascade Milling Light 160 🥞
Qualifying: P8 (of 11)
A-Main: P8->P7
Recap: After wrecking the car in Georgia, we had to take it to get repaired. And our friends at Ultimate helped us look everything over. We practiced on Friday and struggled, but got better come race time after a bunch of changes. The car is still missing about a half a tenth from running up front. We will practice it to find that speed and be up front soon.
