We just have to keep telling ourselves… two 4th place finishes is good, right?
Championship Series race 8 has come and gone… and it was a frustrating day for sure, full of excitement, disappointment and learning experiences.
The main event was the Honda Cup and our debut of the Seamless Dentistry X-Wing at home. We qualified 4th (of 16) locking into the A. In the race, we slotted into 5th and chased down the leaders. Passing for 4th, we didn’t realize we weren’t clear of the car on the outside and pinched them into the wall, which resulted in a wreck that involved many of our friends. It was a humbling, learning experience. And we took full responsibility for the wreck and apologized to those most affected. We finished 4th, just not having anything for the leaders late in the race.
The Dinner with Racers Junior 160 was a rocket ship. After qualifying 2nd, we set sail on the leader and made a move for the top spot. Unfortunately, we touched wheels and spun. We had some damage, and worked hard (thanks everyone who helped) to get it fixed in time but couldn’t get it repaired before the race went back to green. It was disappointing for sure… as we believe we had the car to beat! Our Championship hopes took a hit… but we won’t give up.
The Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - Kannapolis Junior Animal handled awesome… just lacked speed to run with the top three… and we don’t know why. Frustrating for sure. Qualified 3rd. Finished 4th.
