Dixie Shootout R.4 Recap

Whew! What a long, exhausting and HOT weekend of racing at Music City QMRA for round 4 of the Dixie Shootout Series. And we aren't going to lie - this weekend kicked our driver's butt! He struggled figuring out the right line and being consistent lap after lap!

Starting with the best - the Dinner with Racers Junior 160. We had to come through the B to make the A, starting DEAD LAST in a stacked field. And the first few laps weren't that great. But missing some cautions and gaining some confidence, Little E was able to make some moves (great racing GBS Racing) and drive up from 10th to finish 3rd, picking up his fourth-straight Junior 160 podium in the Dixie Series this year and keeping him in the hunt for the Championship. Congrats Hudson Andrews Racing on your win.

The debut of the brand new Seamless Dentistry Junior Honda Ultimate QM X-Wing was great - from 7th to 3rd in the heat and locked into the A. We ran almost the entire feature in 5th and held off two of the best Junior Honda racers in the country, but missed our line two laps in a row coming to the white flag and dropped back to 7th. Disappointing, but the car is in one piece and we learned a lot.

The Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - Kannapolis Junior Animal - best described as rough. Running an awesome 2nd in our heat, there was a red flag and... well let's just say we got slammed into from behind while we were stopping on the track, which pushed us into the car in front of us and DESTROYED the right front - bent axle and rods. He was still able to drive up back to 3rd in the heat, but got sent up the track late and forced to the B main. In the B- the car just wasn't the same and didn't show the pace as the heat - so we failed to make the main. We will take a look at it this week, but this one wasn't on our driver! Congrats to our buddy Brayden Ickler on his Hard Charger Award! Was fun to watch.

Back at it this weekend with the Junior Honda Cup race at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) - sponsored by Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - no pressure for us, huh?
