Heat Race: P2->P2

B-Main: P2->P7

Recap: Ran a strong 2nd in the heat before inheriting the lead.  Then the driver lost his damn mind 🤪 and got off his line, allowing 2nd place to pass him for the win, but still managed to go directly to the B (quite the feat with such a stout field of cars).  In the B-Main, we were running 4th in a transfer spot and got together with another car, causing some damage. Couldn’t make it back to the front with just a few laps left!  Bummer.

Heat Race: P2->P4

B-Main: P5->P8

Recap: This class was AGAIN was a heartbreaker 💔.  In the heat, we got in a crossover battle with another car that caused us to lose a ton of track position. He learned to “park” the other car and when he did, he pulled away and was as fast as the leaders. In the B-Main, the car wasn’t as good but the top 4 GAPPED the field, which was going to be an easy transfer to the A for us… until it wasn’t.  Crossing the line to take the white flag, a part failure on the rear axle caused the chain to come off, ending our hopes of transferring.  It was a gut punch.  But that’s racing 😭

🥞 Cascade Milling Light 160 🥞

Heat Race: P1->P2

B-Main: P1->P1 🏁

A-Main: P7->P7

Recap: Awesome heat race with Weston Freeman Racing, one of the best Lt 160 drivers in the country.  We ran with him, but finished 2nd.  That put us on the pole of the B-Main, which ran RIGHT AFTER the disappointment of the Animal B. Little E put the disappointment behind him by dominating the B, leading every lap to transfer to the A.  In the A, he ran most of the race in 4th. But two mistakes while passing lapped cars cost him track position and a few spots.  In the end, we finished 7th, on the lead lap.  It didn’t show how strong our car was.  But that’s ok.

In the end, ALL THREE CARS were in the Bs (with 30 Sr. Hondas, 27 Light 160s and 17 Sr. Animals) and ALL were running in positions to transfer to the As. We learned A LOT of lessons, which is what this year is about. But it’s exciting to see how strong he’s been in the start of his Senior season.
