We came into the final Summer Series race wanting to grab a win before the series came to a close. And in the Junior Animal race, we got "oh so close" in a torrid, back-and-forth battle with our buddy Roo (RooMax Racing) that saw both drivers lead laps and perform multiple crossovers. But over the last couple of laps, our driver missed his line and allowed Roo to slightly pull away. Either way, it was awesome to race toe-to-toe with one of the best at our track. But 2nd SUCKS!
In the Seamless Dentistry Junior Honda - well something was just amiss with the car. After an awesome practice Saturday, the car was super loose and missing almost two-tenths of speed in the race. We need to look it over and check it out. 4th was all we had. But huge congrats to Brooks Labonte Racing and Biles Racing on their first Junior Honda wins!
The Dinner with Racers Junior 160 started... in the back once again. We raced to 3rd and the top three cars all had similar speed. We missed the line a couple of times which lost us a little ground, and it was hard to make up with the cars so close. So 7th -> 3rd. Not bad.
All-in-all, while we are disappointed to not get a Summer Series win, we know we are racing some of the best in the country on a weekly basis, so to finish with 12 podiums in 17 races with our little team is a HUGE accomplishment for us.
I also had fun announcing the winners in Victory Lane! Hope you guys enjoyed!
