Summer Series R.1 Recap

SORRY DAD… NO WINS… BUT A COUPLE RACES FELT LIKE WINS

The running joke is when dads away, we seem to win races.  Well, we didn’t get any checkers without dad during the first Tuesday Summer Series race of the year, but a few of our finishes felt like wins.  We  grabbed our first Sr. Honda podium with a car that was bad fast and coulda finished 2nd.  We had a very good Lt 160 race and nearly got a podium, but still got our best finish of the year.  Our Animal… well we will just ignore that race.  Either way, good start to the Summer Series.  

And a huge thank you to Uncle Zach and Mr. Jeremy (Eppy) and everyone else for helping out while dad was away!

🦷  Seamless Dentistry Sr. Honda 🦷

A-Main: P7->P3

Recap: OUR FIRST SENIOR HONDA PODIUM AT NCQMA!  Boy did we have a bad-fast Sr. Honda on Tuesday night.  Starting 7th, we were able to make some good moves and get to the bumper of second place.  We had an awesome race with Logan Thomas Racing for the second half of the race.  We might have been a little faster, but just didn’t pull the trigger - we just need a little more “gumption” to make those moves.  Either way, we ran the fastest lap of the race and finished 3rd.

A-Main: P2->P5

Recap: Not a great night in this car.  After being super fast the first part of the season, we’ve struggled with a loose off condition the last two races that we just can’t seem to figure out, which keeps Elliott from having the confidence to make a move. Same thing this week. Got freight-trained from second on lap one.  Spun twice trying to make moves under someone.  Was able to get back to 5th. Ugh!

A-Main: P8->P4

Recap: After getting beat up and banged around last weekend, we rebuilt the car and had a rocket ship.  Elliott drove a smart and maybe “too cautious” race and just missed his first Lt 160 podium – coming home 4th.  But he made some good moves, raced with the big boys (slow down Weston Freeman Racing haha) and had some fast times.  Getting better and better every week!
