Summer Series R.2 Recap

WE KNEW THERE’D BE NIGHTS LIKE THIS… 🤬😫

Last night’s NCQMA Summer Series race #2 was likely our most frustrating race as a Senior driver. We’ve been fortunate to have an AMAZING start to our season.  We came into the year just hoping to make A Mains - that was the goal. And we’ve been fortunate enough to not only make A Mains, but run up front and earn a win, some podiums and compete for top 5s with FAST cars.  But every now and then, we need a reminder that Little E is only 9 and just starting Seniors, racing against 11 and 12 year olds who have been racing Seniors for 2, 3, 4 years… and last night was that night.

And also… a sincere THANK YOU to the handlers who stopped by to offer some advice to Elliott at the end of the night, to give some perspective to a frustrated dad, and to remind us how amazing Little E is doing this year and the respect he’s gaining.  It means a lot to hear them say that and give us a pat on the back!

🦷  Seamless Dentistry Sr. Honda 🦷

A-Main: P3->P4

Recap: We had a great car. Jumped into 2nd at the start and ran 2nd (or 3rd) for 37 of the 40 laps (we spent a lot of time looking at Logan Thomas Racing bumper in Honda and Animal last night)  But a driver mistake over the last 5 laps cost us some speed and allowed the 4th place car to pass us, causing us to miss out on our second-straight Senior Honda podium in a race with 11 cars.

A-Main: P1->P4

Recap: Once again we had a bad fast car, turning one of the fastest laps in the race.  But E got schooled by the best in the country (Case James Racing) on the start and put three-wide, dropping back to 4th. Then proceeded to run on the bumper of 3rd place despite being a little faster for the remaining laps.

A-Main: P7->P5

Recap: We struggled with a tight car and a driver not hitting his marks.  But some good racing and moves got him up to 3rd.  Then equally bad moves left the bottom open and he fell to 5th late.
