Summer Series R.6 Recap

CONFIDENCE BUILDER NIGHT! On the way home last night, Little E exclaimed "I got a lot of confidence tonight." So we will count that has a win in our books.

The Dinner with Racers Junior 160 was again... stop us if you heard this... a rocketship. Once we made our way to 2nd from 5th, we hung strong with the leader and might have had a faster car, but was just too tight to make the pass. Could he? Maybe. Did he? No. But we will take another 2nd as we tweak the car to make it better.

The Junior Honda division saw the field split with the top points leaders all in the same race to help settle the Summer points battle. In a stacked field, we knew the Seamless Dentistry car was fast. Unfortunately, early contact while passing another car put us into the wall, breaking a tie-rod.  We got it fixed and back out, but it just wasn't right. Come to find out the RF wheel was out of wack following the hit. So we struggled home to a 5th place finish.

Our Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - Kannapolis Junior Animal race might have been one of the best races of our career. The top three cars all ran nose-to-tail for the first half of the race. Little E then had an awesome back-and-forth, clean-driving crossover battle with RooMax Racing and was able to hold Mr Roo off, one of the best drivers at our track, over the final 5 laps. It was one of the best pure driving moments of his short racing career and a huge confidence booster.

Two more podiums - that's 26 for the year (compared to 10 all of last year) - and a lot of confidence. So like we said - a win for us!
