Summer Series R.6 Recap

A SOLID ENDING TO THE SUMMER AS WE HEAD TO OHIO

With the threat of rain, last night was a “hustle” and get it done show.  And it worked, cause we got all the races and awards in before the bottom dropped out while loading up. And while we only got one podium, we also grabbed two 4th place finishes and learned some more lessons.  And with E not feeling 100% due to a summer cold🤧, it was a very successful night.

Also, without telling E, we wanted to get as solid of points finishes that we could.  Unofficially, we think we finished 4th in Sr. Honda, 4th in Sr. Animal and 6th in Lt 160 in points.  And to finish 4th in Honda, with such a big group of cars and the talent that’s in that class in our first year of Senior racing is a HUGE win for us.💪🏼

Also... a special thank you to one of our friends (and sponsors) Gress Painting (Eric) who surprised us with a visit for the last couple of races and helped out during a busy couple of races.

A-Main: P3->P4

Recap: This was an important race, because a good finish would give us a good points finish. Starting 3rd in the A-Main, we slid into 2nd and ran there for a bit, until a couple of faster cars got by us and put us back to 4th.  We were the 4th best car and we finished 4th behind three veteran and experienced drivers (Weston Freeman Racing, Awesomeness Racing Team, Henry Albright Racing). We were very happy with that. 😎

🛢️ Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change - Kannapolis Sr. Animal 🛢️

A-Main: P5->P3

Recap: If the Animal was the first race of the day, we think we’d have a lot more good finishes and maybe a couple of more wins. That car is FAST.  But E seems to get tired and doesn’t make the right moves when he should. Case in point last night… we likely had the 2nd best car… but finished 3rd. Got in a crazy crossover battle with Logan Thomas Racing at the end of the race which hurt our chances to compete for 2nd. But still another podium!

A-Main: P7->P4

Recap: We figured out where we were missing speed in the Animal – next its time to work on the 160. We are about the 6th best car in the field on speed right now. And most weeks, that’s around where we finish. Was fortunate enough to take advantage of some other’s misfortunes to finish 4th last night and we will take it.
